Social and Economic Dimensions of Ecosystem Management Unit
Terracom helped the Social and Economic Dimensions of Ecosystem Management unit of the US Forest Service transform its website into an engaging tool for sharing its research. The challenge was to work within a new Forest Service format and graphics template to update the unit's site and broaden its appeal. The unit has since been combined with others in the Forest Service, but the website is still live.
In a follow-up project, Terracom helped get valuable findings from researchers to forest managers, distilling information from several reports into a series of quick-read fact sheets. The result: Tools to help managers address the conditions that fuel wildfire in places where homes and dense vegetation mix.
